In the Revere Don’t Miss List is Shoshana Bean’s Spectrum album release concert February 24 at Ace Hotel in DTLA. We love For The Record productions and this one promises to be a dazzler.
Shoshana will be joined by special guests Chrissy Metz from NBC’s This Is Us, Lea DeLaria (Orange Is The New Black), Vintage Trouble frontman Ty Taylor, and indie recording artist Audra Mae.
The evening will feature Bean performing her fourth studio album, to be released February 9, a fresh take on classic big band arrangements by Grammy-nominated arranger Alan Ferber with the artist accompanied by an 18-piece big band. She’ll be performing a carefully curated selection of standards, classics, and modern favorites, as well as a few tunes written by Bean.
Shoshana made her Broadway debut in the original cast of Hairspray before taking over Idina Menzel’s role as Elhaba in Wicked. She has performed throughout the world with artists including Ariana Grande, Brian McKnight, Postmodern Jukebox (PMJ), David Foster, and Michael Jackson.
Inspired by the artistry of Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, and Streisand, Spectrum is expected to be Bean’s most impressive project to date. Her first three solo albums have topped iTunes R&B and Blues charts in the US and UK. Superhero (2008), O’Farrell Street (2013) and Shadows To Light (2013), which debuted at #10 on Billboard’s Blues Albums charts. She has amassed millions of views on YouTube, most recently her cover of Taylor Swift’s “I Did Something Bad” garnered a frenzy of media attention, as well as earned high praise from Swift herself.
Joining Bean for a special performance is television actress (and recent Golden Globe nominee) Chrissy Metz who plays Kate Pearson on the hit NBC show This Is Us and music, stage and screen star Lea DeLaria, best known for her portrayal as Big Boo Black on the Netflix series Orange Is The New Black.
Ty Taylor, lead singer of the LA-based soul/rock band Vintage Trouble will provide a sneak peak at his forthcoming solo album to be released this spring.
Indie recording artist Audra Mae will open the evening with songs from her newly released album. The prolific songwriter has penned songs for Avicii, Celine Dion, David Guetta, Susan Boyle, Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson, The Band Perry, Carrie Underwood and Little Big Town.
