HD HOMME Captivates the Runway at TOM*
Heating up the runway was an understatement for HD HOMME at the first ever TOM* Toronto Men’s Fashion Week in August. Designer Hussein Dhalla did not disappoint, and most definitely, did not miss the mark.
Silver Blazer with Bowtie
Bring on Mr. Debonair. Sophistication at it’s best with this vintage inspired black tie look.
For the self-taught Toronto designer, he understands the male form and designs to accent and support the shape and varying styles of his audience. Men looking for everything from the ultimate seductive loungewear to debonair evening wear (and everything in between) for the Spring/Summer 2015 season will be handsomely rewarded.
Navy Blue Suit with Jewelled Accents and Bowtie
Boom! This gentleman will not be missed. A dynamite take on the conventional tuxedo – no doubt this is the sparkle in HD’s eye.
Lavender Blazer with White T-Shirt
Unafraid of a little colour. Confirms that the right jacket can act to finish any ensemble.
White Trenchcoat and White Pants
Now for a little tone down. Love that this is paired with casual flip flops to accent the ease and confidence of a man that wears white on white on white.
It is clearly evident that Dhalla is influenced by the glamour and refined styles of vintage Hollywood with tailoring and detailed finishes that subtly allude to the likes of Clark Gable and Cary Grant. The satin lapels and colourful fabrics alone are enough to make you double take. Next, add in contrasting piping and jeweled finishing work and you will see Black Tie class everywhere. Although HD HOMME only surfaced in 2012, this collection already feels like the work of a veteran designer.
