As LA foodies drool at the prospect of the highly-anticipated Arts District comer SIMONE opening later this year, next Monday, SIMONE’s Jessica Largey (Manresa) will at the helm of a pop-up at Santa Monica’s award-winning Rustic Canyon – home to her colleague and friend Jeremy Fox.
The May 22 experience (starting at 6 pm) will feature a six-course tasting menu celebrating late spring produce, punched by dishes like Sweet Potatoes with tahini, shishito peppers, tangelo, and harissa; Abalone Toast with avocado, charred yuzu, cucumbers, and black vinegar; and Parmesan Gnudi with peas, green garlic, and pistachios. The tasting menu is priced at $85/person.
Jessica will open SIMONE with partners Bruno Bagbeni (formerly of Fraîche and Bastide) and longtime film/TV director Joe Russo. The restaurant will feature an intimate chef’s counter open a few days a week and a full cocktail bar. The interior design that pays homage to the building’s historic roots.
