Fried chicken from Komodo’s Exec Chef Erwin Tjahyadi or Boston’s Samuel Monsour. Some killer sides and beverages. And sneaker artist Brian Staton’s hand-painted Chuck Taylor Fried Chick’s All Star Kicks available for purchase. How’s that to kick off the post-tax weekend?
Komodo Venice is hosting Chuck Taylor’s Fried Chicken All Stars Pop Up on Friday, April 17. Choose from Tjahyadi’s happy hour version of Nashville-inspired crispy deep-fried chicken drenched in housemade chili oil (How good does that sound?) or Monsour’s Low Country-style in buttermilk brine, Carolina gold sauce, and Bojangle’s fry seasoning.
With the first night sold out, an extra ten seats have been opened and the popular Pop Up has been extended to Saturday, April 18! Price and times are the same for both nights!
We know you’ve just emptied the pockets to the IRS so pony up $20 a ticket for half a fried chicken and choice of miso-bacon corn, cookout slaw, or bottomless mac & cheese featuring Vermont sharp cheddar and Lagunitas Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Ale and an ice cream sandwich for dessert! (If you’re getting a refund, treat us to dinner!)
Komodo is offering two thirst-quenchers, Spiked Mint Lemonade and Spiked Mint Sweet Iced Tea, each at $5, available spiked with soju, Korean distilled alcohol or for teetotalers, without the spike.
Brian Staton will be on hand to unleash the second edition of his hand painted Chuck Taylor’s Fried Chicken All Star Kicks, available to order in all sizes at $200. For $100-200, Staton will custom paint a pair of previously purchased Chuck Taylor Canvas sneaks.
