Miriam Baker: Embracing the Curves of Women + Fashion

Meeting Miriam one is instantly expecting to be presented with a line of clothing from the designer that is classic, tailored and flattering. No surprise there, that’s what I was presented with.
Ms. Baker saw a gap in the market that is actually far broader than perhaps the everyday shopper realizes: women who wear a D-cup+ have a challenge finding well designed and flattering clothing for their bodies. For many, in order to get what they need they must consider tailoring, custom made or frankly, abandoning what is available and just compromise with what will sort of work.
Unsatisfied with this, Miriam Baker has developed a line intended to match her brand promise that “Confidence starts with beautiful clothes that fit and flatter the figure. Her eponymous line AliceAzur satisfies this in a stylish and elegant way. All additional seasons will be held under the Miriam Baker label.
Her fantastic designs start with the bust first and while she has begun with a petite amply busted target audience, the growth potential for the line is limitless.
Keep your eyes open for her next line and don’t forget to check out the TFI (Toronto Fashion Incubator – nurturing and supporting fashion entrepreneurs since 1987) where Miriam got her start.
