Julia Child’s “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” introduced Americans to a variety of lamb dishes, including her notorious Butterflied Leg of Lamb. The predecessor to Ina, Giada, et al. once quipped , “Always remember. If you’re alone in the kitchen and you drop the lamb, you can always pick it up. Who’s going to know?”

Decades later, some top LA restaurants are featuring some especially tasty dishes Julia would have relished.

Rivabella/West Hollywood

I have a foodie crush on Michelin-starred Chef Luigi Fineo’s housemade Lamb Pappardelle with peach and pistachio (Image Below.)  I just could not stop my fork from twirling. The fruity notes of the peach play off the richness of the meat, reminding me of when my mom brushed Saucy Susan on short ribs, circa 1970s.

The chef is also offering Lamb Loin with sweet corn, snap peas, and pearl onion for those who are in the mood for a more savory experience.
