Plan Check Throws One on the Grill for National Cheeseburger Day

Any city worth its salt has a signature dish or two. A slice of Ray’s Pizza or an H & H bagel with lox and a shmear in The Big Apple. Deep Dish from Gino’s East or  a Maxwell Street Polish sausage in Chicago. A cuppa chowda at Union Oyster House or a Maine lobster roll at Neptune Oyster House in Boston. And some dish with kale washed down with Kombucha or a green smoothie  in LA.

Just kidding.

Really, what dish says City of Angels better than a Dodger Dog, tacos from Guisados, or a cheeseburger, whether from the backyard barbecue, In & Out or Apple Pan — or the out of the park creative twist at Plan Check Kitchen + Bar.

In celebration of National Cheeseburger Day (September 18), Exec Chef Ernesto Uchimura is serving the updated classic at the three outposts of the mod American eatery.

The Sawtelle, Fairfax, and Downtown locations will be featuring Uchimura’s signature P.C.B. (Plan Check Burger), which pairs the chef’s famed touches like Americanized dashi cheese, ketchup leather — a fruit roll up like square of dehydrated ketchup — schmaltz onion, and pickles piled high on a signature crunch bun for the quintsessential modern burger.


Order some Waffle Sweet Potato Fries with peach ketchup and kick the whole thing back with an IPA.
