Brunch is almost a sport in LA. What better way to relax after SoulCycle or a yoga class? In Santa Monica, Esters Wine Shop & Bar is kicking off a weekly Sunday Boozy Brunch from 10 am to 2 pm with day-drinking worthy cocktails, bottles of rosé and bubbly — and an array of dishes, both sweet and savory, from Chef de Cuisine Chris Ono and Exec Chef Jeremy Fox.
“We have such a beautiful patio and a relaxed atmosphere here, so our Sunday Boozy Brunch is the perfect opportunity to gather friends for a lighter breakfast and cocktails before heading to the beach, or even linger over some hearty sandwiches until our afternoon tastings begin,” says Co-Owner and Wine Director Kathryn Coker.
What’s brunch without cocktails? Bartender Michael Croom has created a bunch like his Heirloom Tomato Bloody Mary with a smoked chorizo garnish; A Oaxacan Tail with cold brew coffee, mezcal, and mole bitters; a Japanese Shandy with Coedo Black Lager, pineapple, and amaro; alongside Mimosas and French 75s made with fresh-squeezed juices. Of course, there’s Esters’ spectac wine and beer lists, along with magnums of Red Car Rosé of Pinot Noir and bottles of Drusian Prosecco di Valdobbiadene and Philippe Foreau Vouvray Brut Reserve are also available.

If you’re in the ‘hood during the week, Esters has kicked off Tuesday Burger Night – featuring Esters Burger — a blockbuster hit at June’s monthly Wine & Dine. Burger night will run through the end of summer, beginning at 6 pm till the burgers are sold out. The five-ounce grass-fed burger is served on a fresh-based Milo & Olive brioche bun, topped with crisp butter lettuce, heirloom tomato, grilled red onions, American cheese, and “Esters special sauce” — along with housemade BBQ chips for $19. Varied wine pairings are available
