Of course there’s always the classic Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles, the soul food chain founded by Harlem native Herb Hudson back in the days of the disco ball and platform shoes. The SoCal culinary landmark is best known for fried chicken and waffles, paired or solo, but also offers traditional Mac & Cheese, Greens, and more.
WeHo’s ubercool pool hall meets cocktail-driven dining, Bar10 is serving an updated twist on the classic. The menu’s Fried Chicken and Waffles ($12) pairs seasoned, breaded chicken with waffles, raspberry compote, and a side of honey for a bit of savory and sweet.
Over in Westwood, Tanzy‘s twist on the old school classic couples Crispy Chicken & Sourdough Waffles ($19), prepared with Jidori chicken and accompanied with country gravy. It’s the perfect brunch before a movie at the iPic!
Our fave Euro-gelato outpost in Beverly Hills, Amorino, pairs waffles with choice of gelato and toppings like strawberry or apricot jam, chocolate, caramel, Gianduja, and Chantilly cream. We’re going to have to head over this afternoon…
