Beauty, elegance and sensuality. All combined, naturally we know why the tune “You Give Me Fever” from the illustrious Peggy Lee was playing during the FW15 NARCES runway show during World Mastercard Fashion Week in Toronto, Canada. Designed by Nikki Wirthensohn, combines her love of fashion with her business education to result in a fabulous and fresh line time after time.
Never disappointing, this season’s collection explores the curves of the body with highly textured fabrics. A number of the pieces in the collection use inserts to create a natural, nude effect and strategically placed lace, embellishments and sequins tie to the natural roots of the designers love of the 1940s-1960s, but also the modern sensuality of a woman.
In addition, the collection was inspired by the work of Japanese artist, Sachiko Kodama’s (www.sachikokodama.com) ferrofluid art. Each dress is intended to give the feeling of using the body as a magnetic field that the dresses wrap around and thus, create beautiful moving silhouettes. No doubt you can guess why the room was heating up.
With black, ivory, gold, silver and red at centre stage, the evening glamour is captivating. Organza, lace, mesh and tulle are all showcased with the ever classic satins.
Our favourite was a wonderful simple red and ivory number that had lips at centre stage. Subtle and seductive all at the same time.
Sold on the international stage, women in the USA, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Canada are feeling elegant, fashionable and captivating in their NARCES wears.
